Student Journey

St George’s International School, Luxembourg is a vibrant, welcoming and inclusive community of 850 students from the ages of 3 years to 18+. We want every student to enjoy every day of their learning, we want every member of our community to feel a sense of belonging and we believe that in the right environment, every child can flourish and thrive.

Our curriculum is based on the National Curriculum for England and Wales, tailored for an international community in Luxembourg seeking an education in English. In Secondary, students work towards internationally recognised and highly regarded IGCSE, A level and BTEC qualifications.

From Early Years until graduation, students are nurtured and supported to achieve the best possible outcomes. We look beyond the classroom to provide opportunities for students to grow and develop through leadership, social initiatives, the arts and sporting achievement. We believe that wisdom begins with wonder.

Early Years

Our Early Years programme for children aged 3-4 creates the foundation for students to develop a lifelong love of learning through structured play, organised activities and meaningful interactions.

Our classes are limited to 20 students to ensure high-quality adult engagement and individualised support.

Primary

During the Primary years – for children aged 5 to 11 – students study the core subjects of English, maths, science, humanities, French, art, physical education and music, while subjects, such as computing, food technology, Luxembourgish and SMSC (social, moral, spiritual and cultural) are added for different year groups.

Class sizes remain small to allow for personalised learning.

Secondary School

Secondary students can choose from an extensive range of subjects designed to prepare them for university and the workplace, while also pursuing areas of interest. Small class sizes ensure personalised learning, allowing teachers to monitor and nurture each student’s potential closely.

Our comprehensive support network – including our Pastoral, SEN (Special Educational Needs), Most Able, and EAL (English as an Additional Language) teams – ensures that every student receives tailored support to help them succeed.

Here's what our students say about their experiences at St George's.

Yesterday we went on an excursion and saw lots of animals. It was lots of fun.  At school I like playing on the pirate ship and the slide. We also have a football pitch. I like it when we go the library and we can choose our own books. My favourite book is Piggy and Gerald. Sometimes the librarians read to us. I also like it when we have music and art.

One of the things I like the most about St George’s is that there are so many different nationalities and I can make friends and meet people from all over the world. I really love sculpting in art. We recently had the chance to sculpt clay into food, so I made this waffle.

I’ve been at St George’s for seven years. There’s a nice friendly community of people and I find the teachers very supportive and helpful. I’ve enjoyed being a part of the school.
